As Americans we think to be healthy we have to spend a lot of money. Billions os dollars each year are spent on weight loss and fitness products. Many people think how can I be healthy and frugal at the same time?? All this stuff costs money and lots of it. Well, they do not have to.
Here are a few Healthy Habits of Frugal People:
1-Stay within your Means
In today’s world people like to spend more than what they have. If they want something they just charge it. That is not within your means. It causes more stress and debt. If you don’t have the money in your hand or checking account then do not buy it. This will leave you happier, more financially secure and at peace. When you find you have enough to buy what you NEED then you will have freedom. You will not be as strained by finances which will leave you happier. When you are happier and stress free you will sleep better, make better choices for eating, and hopefully be encouraged by better sleep and attitude to start working out more.
Get up and get outside. I would rather be outside than inside. Maybe it is taking a walk or run, going to the park, hiking, swimming, or making a garden. Which is obviously healthier for you than sitting watching a movie with a bag of popcorn, eating ice cream, or just being lazy lol! Get outside and get fresh air, move your body, take in the sounds of nature, breath! Best of all it doesn’t cost a thing to go outside! It is a win win in my book.
If you want to be healthier then start cooking your own food. In most cases what you cook is going to be healthier than what you get when you go out to eat. If you want loads of sugar, fat, salt, and chemicals in your food then keep eating out. Also, when you eat out you tend to think you have to eat everything that is on your plate. In my opinion they put too much on your plate anyway. So, you are eating way to much in most cases. Over eating is never a good thing.
4- Don’t keep buying chemicals
Pull out your cleaning products. Do a little research and find out what is in them. While you are researching find something that is a natural product to replace those expensive chemicals you are cleaning with. And yes you can be frugal with natural. There are a lot of natural products that cost an arm and a leg out there. I don’t buy them. Most of my cleaning is done with baking soda and vinegar. These are way less harsh and inexpensive. Buy buy chemicals and hello to the fresh smell of vinegar! My husband did not like the smell at first but the smell goes away pretty fast.
5- Be Grateful and Content
When you know how hard and careful you have been to purchase healthy things you tend to appreciate them more. When you are grateful for the things you are doing you feel content. Be grateful for what you have and all the work you have done to make sure you are being healthy and frugal and be content and happy with your choices.
