If there’s anything I love more than eating, it’s having a quick and easy recipe that makes delicious food. This recipe is no exception. These fluffy biscuits make for the perfect side dish for any dinner.
We first start by mixing our flour, butter, sugar, baking powder, and salt until the dough is just crumbly. We don’t want to over mix it to make sure it stay light and fluffy instead of tough and dense.
Next, we add our buttermilk, egg, and mix together again. If you do not have buttermilk it is super easy to make. For every 1 cup of milk you use, add 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice. I don’t generally buy buttermilk so I usually will make it with lemon juice.
After your egg and buttermilk have been added check the consistency of your biscuit dough. If it looks too dry add up to 1/4 cup of water. If you add too much water it’ll be too wet and we’ll lose that perfect dough consistency.
Pour your biscuit dough on a greased surface. I fold it over with my hands on the counter until the dough is greased all over. I’ll then press it down into a nice rectangular shape. Grab a glass cup and press down into your biscuit dough to get the perfect biscuit shape. Repeat this process until all (or most) of the dough has been used.
Place uncooked biscuits on a greased or parchment-lined cookie sheet and bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15-20 minutes. Allow them to cool for about 5 minutes and serve!
